BRINGING EVERYONE UNDER THE SAME UMBRELLA
Our purpose is to organize a common data collection bank while bringing all of the disparate community groups and individuals under the same SPUHC(Single Payer Universal Health Care)umbrella here in the Monroe County region.
Once underway we shall link up and coordinate with similar elements in the State. Region and Country.
This will lead us into a head on confrontation with the well entrenched special interest groups who managed to bring Hillary's effors to a screeching halt the last time around. However, we do have a number of our former protagonists who have taken a 180 and are actually with us this time.
Our current need is for volunteer community organizers. Although we are applying for funding, the amount, if we get it, will simply be "seed money". The major fundraising money efforts will have to come from us.
Despite the crushing need for SPUHC, we will never join all of the other major industrialized countries i n the world until our elected officials take the bull by the horns. Since they are by nature "bean counters", our elected officials will not act until they see/hear a significant output from their constituencies. This will not occur until the constituencies are motivated. They will not be motivated until we put some holes in their bubbles of complacency. We can do it, but it is going to take a unified, and well coordinated effort. We still have many seats on our health care wagon. Won't you join us?
